About Us
At The Phonics Fox®, we are passionate about teaching young children to read and helping them to develop the skills they need to write. We believe it is never too early to start their literacy journey which begins and continues with the exciting world of books.
You will often hear that the most important thing you can do for your child is to read to them. We strongly believe in this. Being read aloud to is the hook to learning. It stimulates children’s imagination and expands their understanding of the world. Not only does it help children to develop language and listening skills, it provides context to understand the written word.
Learning Through Play
In our unique The Phonics Fox® classes, we bring together phonics teaching as a part and literacy teaching as a whole to create a truly enjoyable learning experience.
We teach the building blocks of phonics and provide children with a meaningful context for reading and writing - using stories and fun activities that will stimulate their imagination and develop their reading and writing skills. It is not phonics teaching in isolation- the children will be having so much fun, they won't even realise they are learning.

The Phonics Fox® is primarily about learning through play at the pace of the individual child. Our aim is to encourage confidence, independence and imagination in children. We hope to foster a love of books and learning for life.
The Phonics Fox Family
We believe that parents are children's first and foremost educators. As your child's first teacher, we aim to empower you with the knowledge and skills to begin your child's reading and writing journey. We hope you will take away ideas from our classes that will enable you to continue teaching and enjoying with your child as they grow and flourish at their own pace.

The parents (and Grandparents, Childminders etc) that come to our classes are our most valuable resource. As you learn and play together with your child, not only do you enjoy magical one-to-one time together, you are able to achieve learning milestones with your child that you may never have previously thought possible.
Wow, how have 2 years plus passed with you already? I am feeling very sad about that being our last class with you….I cannot express how thankful we are for all that you have consistently offered us- such tailored, gentle, thoughtful, creative, playful support, ideas and memories. Thank you.

We are very lucky to have extremely loyal families who re-book classes with us term after term. They love the ethos and the content of the classes and they value that their children are not only having so much fun but are also acquiring important skills for school. We pride ourselves on building really strong relationships with all our families!
